A Manufacturing Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing production schedules to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output. This role bridges production, procurement, and logistics to align resource availability with customer demand, minimizing downtime and maximizing throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development & Maintenance: Create and update production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, labor capacity, and equipment readiness
  • Resource Allocation: Assign materials, labor, and equipment to production lines to prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth workflow
  • Inventory & Material Coordination: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials are available when needed
  • Progress Monitoring: Track daily production progress, identify delays, and adjust schedules in real time to meet deadlines
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between production, procurement, logistics, and quality control teams to streamline operations
  • Data Utilization: Use ERP, scheduling, and data analysis tools to generate reports, forecast demand, and optimize resource use
  • Problem Solving: Address production issues, supply chain disruptions, and capacity constraints promptly
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure schedules align with quality standards and safety regulations

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in scheduling and data entry is critical
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with diverse teams
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with manufacturing scheduling software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control standards
  • Experience: 2–3+ years in manufacturing coordination or scheduling; familiarity with lean manufacturing and inventory management systems

Typical Daily Tasks

  • Review and revise production schedules based on real-time data.
  • Communicate schedule changes to relevant departments.
  • Prepare reports on production performance and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with procurement for material deliveries.
  • Assist in implementing lean manufacturing improvements.
