Job Description
Major Drilling, one of the world’s leading drilling service companies, is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to support day-to-day warehouse operations at our Salt Lake City facility.
This role serves as a key link between warehouse staff and the Warehouse & Inventory Manager, ensuring efficient shipping, receiving, inventory control, and purchasing support activities. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating workflow, maintaining accuracy, enforcing safety standards, and driving continuous improvement across warehouse operations.

Responsibilities
Team Coordination:
• Supervise and support warehouse associates in daily operations
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure efficiency standards are met
• Train new employees in warehouse procedures, systems, and safety practices
• Promote a positive team environment focused on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Shipping & Receiving:
• Oversee daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
• Verify orders against invoices and ensure all discrepancies are resolved prior to shipment
• Ensure proper documentation of shipment details, including work orders and destinations
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet operational delivery requirements
Inventory Control:
• Support and monitor accurate inventory transactions, including data entry and system updates
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities
• Help maintain stock levels, organization, and proper storage practices aligned with operational needs
• Identify and escalate inventory discrepancies or process issues
Warehouse Operations:
• Ensure adherence to Lean and 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Monitor equipment usage and ensure safe operation of forklifts and warehouse tools
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and procedures
• Assist with yard organization, loading/unloading, and staging of materials as needed
Purchasing Support:
• Support purchasing processes by assisting with order tracking and vendor communications
• Coordinate with the Warehouse & Inventory Manager on procurement priorities and material availability
• Help ensure timely fulfillment of field and operational requests
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and accuracy
• Track key operational metrics such as order accuracy, turnaround times, and inventory discrepancies
• Support reporting and documentation requirements
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer and data entry skills
Preferred:
• Experience in mining, drilling, or related industries
• Familiarity with inventory management systems (IFS, Oracle, or similar)
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain
• Knowledge of Lean and 5S principles Strong attention to detail and accountability
