Security Guard in Spokane, Washington at Ruby River Hotel

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and observant Overnight Hotel Security Guard to join our hospitality team in downtown Spokane. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our hotel guests, employees, and properties.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working independently, patrolling multiple properties, and providing assistance to guests and employees when needed.

• Conduct routine security patrols of four downtown hotel properties, including interior and exterior areas, parking lots, stairwells, hallways, and common spaces.
• Monitor properties for suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, safety hazards, and potential security concerns.
• Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, noise complaints, trespassing concerns, and other security incidents.
• Assist hotel front desk employees with challenging guest interactions and security-related concerns.
• Provide escorts for employees and guests when necessary to ensure their safety.
• Assist with overnight front desk coverage and guest service duties as needed.
• Monitor and enforce hotel policies regarding unauthorized visitors, property access, and guest conduct.
• Document security incidents, unusual activity, and safety concerns in detailed written reports.
• Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or management when appropriate.
• Maintain regular communication with hotel management and front desk personnel.
• Ensure doors, entrances, and restricted areas are properly secured.
• Maintain a professional and courteous presence while representing the Company.

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or confrontational situations.
• Strong observational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and available to work assigned overnight shifts.
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol multiple properties throughout the shift.
• Basic computer skills for incident reporting and communication.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
