The Parts Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the dealership’s Parts Department, including inventory management, sales performance, customer service, and team development. This role ensures efficient operations, strong financial performance, and effective support of the Service Department while maintaining compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

Job Duties

• Oversee daily operations of the Parts Department, including retail, wholesale, and internal sales.
• Manage parts inventory levels, accuracy, and obsolescence control.
• Lead, train, develop and monitor the performance of parts department staff, including counterpersons and drivers.
• Monitor department performance metrics such as sales, gross profit, and inventory turns.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of parts requests for service technicians and advisors.
• Maintain strong vendor and manufacturer relationships.
• Enforce dealership policies, internal controls, and manufacturer requirements.
• Collaborate with Service, Accounting, and Management teams to support dealership objectives.
• Prepare and review parts department reports and forecasts.
• Attends managers’ meetings.
• Monitors parts department employees' payroll and timesheet records.

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous automotive parts management or dealership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of parts inventory control, pricing, and profitability.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to analyze reports and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems and standard office software.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems and spreadsheets.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Able to successfully pass a background screening, drug test, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check, as applicable.
