The Python Software Developer will contribute to the design, development, modernization, and delivery of cybersecurity-focused software solutions. This role requires strong technical ownership, the ability to solve complex engineering challenges, and effective collaboration with distributed teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.
- Design, develop, test, and enhance high-quality software solutions supporting cybersecurity platforms.
- Modernize and re-architect existing components using contemporary software architectures focused on scalability, availability, and resiliency.
- Develop solutions aligned with cybersecurity product roadmap initiatives and business requirements.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Analyze complex technical challenges and contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
- Build and maintain applications using Python and object-oriented programming principles.
- Develop and support distributed systems, event-driven architectures, message-based solutions, and RESTful services.
- Work with cloud environments and infrastructure automation practices to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in agile development processes, including planning, collaboration, reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
- Communicate technical risks, recommendations, and implementation considerations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability issues across software systems.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong Python expertise and a background in building scalable applications, distributed systems, and cloud-based solutions. You should have strong analytical skills, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python with significant hands-on development experience.
- Strong understanding of application design principles and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience designing and developing domain-driven, event-driven, and message-driven architectures.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful services.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MSSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or Check Point CloudGuard.
- Familiarity with cloud security governance tools, including Azure Policy, AWS SCP/RCP, or GCP Constraints.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with modern web technologies such as Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
