Registered Nurse (RN II)- Cardiovascular Care Unit

RN II - Cardiovascular Care Unit- Full Time/ Nights

Work location: Texas Health Denton: 3000 N I-35 Denton, Texas 76201

Work hours: Full Time (36 Hour) Night Shift; 7P-7A x3 shifts per week with rotating holidays and weekends

Department Highlights:
  • All age ranges- Cardiac issues, heart failure
  • 31 bed cardiac unit
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
  • Patient population includes post open heart (CABG), post PCI, arrythmia issues, administration of cardiac drips (all rooms have bedside monitors)
  • High morale with lots of tenure on the unit


Here's What You Need

Education
  • Nursing Diploma (nursing) required Or
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required Or
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Experience
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program is required
  • 2+ years of nursing experience is preferred

Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
  • NIHSS- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 90 days required And
  • ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required And
  • CPI- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required

The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.
