Job Description
The Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-stream faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor.
We seek an outstanding investigator studying the neural circuits and molecular mechanisms underlying motor control, sensorimotor integration, neural development, plasticity, regeneration, and repair of the central nervous system. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, developmental neuroscience, systems neuroscience, neural circuit organization and function, neural regeneration and repair, movement disorders, and translational neuroscience.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an innovative, internationally recognized, and externally funded research program and to contribute to graduate and medical student education. The candidate should also have a history of NIH funding. The Department of Neurobiology provides an exceptional collaborative environment with strong interactions across the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, including the Systems Neuroscience Center, the Center for Neuroscience, the Departments of Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and other basic and clinical neuroscience programs.
Applicants should possess a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience or a related biomedical discipline, with a demonstrated record of scientific excellence, scholarly achievement, and sustained extramural funding.
