Job Description

National Jewish Health is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Bronchoscopy Technician (Respiratory Therapist/RT) to join the Minimally Invasive Diagnostic Center (MIDC) team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized pulmonary specialists, supporting advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that help identify, evaluate and treat complex respiratory conditions. In this highly specialized role, you will play a direct part in delivering innovative care in one of the nation's premier respiratory centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians during bronchoscopy, laryngoscopy and endoscopy procedures
  • Prepares procedure rooms, equipment and supplies to ensure safe and efficient patient care
  • Cleans, maintains and manages specialized procedural equipment, including bronchoscopes and related instruments
  • Handles and prepares specimens according to established quality and safety standards
  • Supports seamless clinical operations through inventory management and procedural coordination

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with bronchoscopy and endoscopy (as needed) procedures including procedure room preparation. Cleans, maintains, and secures bronchoscopes and GI scopes (as needed). Performs complex calibrations and calculation of data and evaluates accuracy, reliability, and reproducable of results to meet or exceed all national standards.

Essential Duties

  1. Assists physicians with bronchoscope and laryngoscope procedures.
  2. Prepares bronchoscopy and endoscopy procedure rooms. Cleans instruments, handles, and prepares tissue, lavage, and fluid specimens to applicable standards.
  3. Maintains knowledge and use of appropriate computer systems within the department and hospital.
  4. Stock supplies and equipment to ensure uninterrupted service, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Associate's or Bachelors Degree in science-related field required.
  2. Work Experience: 2 years of recent and related experience preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), or within 1 year of hire any one of the following: Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT). CRTs and RRTs are required to have a current state of Colorado License to practice respiratory care as defined by DORA. BLS required. ACLS/PALS required within 90 days of hire.

Salary Range: $30.29 - $40.06
