Job Description
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Selector main duties are to select, assemble, and palletize product from a number of locations within the warehouse including the cooler, dry, freezer, and storage areas according to established routing and stop labels. Once palletized, product must be wrapped and loaded according to truck and stop criteria for morning delivery.
Essential Functions:

- Selects, assembles, palletizes, and otherwise handles cases, boxes, bags, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, proteins, and related products as identified on pick tickets, in the quantities specified, for delivery.
- Achieve a Selector Rating of 110 cases/hour and have an error rate average of 1 mispick per 2,500 pieces selected.
- Initial 30 Days:
- Learn warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Focus on building foundational order picking skills with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.
- Aim to achieve a Selector Rating of 80 cases/hour by the end of the first 30 days.
- Days 31-60:
- Enhance order picking techniques and efficiency.
- Receive personalized coaching to address specific improvement areas.
- Increase Selector Rating to 90 cases/hour by the end of the 60th day.
- Days 61-90:
- Fine-tune advanced order picking skills for maximum efficiency.
- Continue to receive guidance to further improve performance.
- Achieve a Selector Rating of 110 cases/hour by the end of the 90th day.
- Initial 30 Days:
- Safely operate pallet jacks and stock pickers.
- Accountable for meeting productivity, accuracy and safety work standards.
- Assist with training and development of new associates.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or a GED, required.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills to properly identify products and mark them for delivery.
- Ability to understand the slot-sequencing layout of the warehouse and labels that are placed on selected products.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures in order to select product from refrigerated, frozen and dry picking locations
- Ability to lift products weighing between 40-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Commits to follow instructions to work safely, efficiently, and accurately using company provided equipment.
Preferred Skills
- 1 year of experience loading and selecting merchandise in a warehouse
- 1-2 years’ experience with electric power equipment
Quality / SQF requirements
(These are requirements of our Safe Quality Foods [SQF] Certification. Specific training and documentation will be provided to each individual during employment):
- Know and follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
- Know and understand the contents of the Policy Manual and the Food Safety Policy
- Understand the Food Safety and Quality Manual and where to find the same
- Know the annual changes to the SQF system
- Know that policies exist with reference to production-related record keeping
- Understand the evolving food safety legislation and regulations communicated by the QA Manager
- Understand policies/standard operating procedures with respect to personnel practices insofar as control of physical contaminants, cleaning and sanitation, waste management, and act accordingly
- Know that there are standard operating procedures for calibration of equipment, premises and equipment maintenance, and where the procedures may be found
- Know that there is a Food Safety Plan including an HACCP plan and know that there are control Points and know how to apply Control Measures
- Understand our policies regarding product identification and labeling rules, as well as product traceability and act accordingly when necessary
- Know that policies exist regarding Incident Management and Recall and Food Security/Premises Security/Sabotage, and participate in establishing the same when appropriate
