Job Description
The Master Plumber will provide leadership and technical oversight for plumbing operations supporting secure government facilities. This position is responsible for supervising plumbing personnel, directing maintenance and repair activities, and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, contract requirements, and safety regulations.
The Master Plumber serves as the senior authority for plumbing systems, overseeing the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to ensure reliable facility operations and mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to plumbing personnel performing maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee plumbing operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements and performance standards.
- Inspect and evaluate plumbing work to ensure adherence to applicable codes, maintenance manuals, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of domestic water, wastewater, sanitary sewer, drainage, and associated plumbing systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex plumbing system issues affecting facility operations.
- Coordinate emergency response activities involving plumbing and water systems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are properly executed to maximize equipment reliability and system performance.
- Review work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Support facility improvement projects, renovations, equipment replacements, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, contractors, and government representatives to support operational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Top Secret Clearance Required
- Master Plumber License recognized by the applicable state or local authority.
- At Least 8 years of plumbing experience, including experience supervising or leading plumbing personnel.
Required Certifications
- Master Plumber’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, potable water systems, sanitary sewer systems, wastewater systems, and related infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret plumbing codes, technical drawings, specifications, maintenance manuals, and construction documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience overseeing maintenance, repair, and installation activities in commercial, industrial, institutional, or government facilities.
- Experience supporting federal, Department of State, Department of Defense, or other secure government facilities.
- Experience with large, campus-style facilities or mission-critical environments.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preventive maintenance programs.
- Additional certifications related to facilities maintenance, project management, safety, or building operations.
