- Design and evolve scalable, maintainable, and secure platform architectures that support long-term business and technical objectives.
- Develop backend services and distributed applications using modern programming languages and functional programming principles.
- Lead platform-wide initiatives aimed at improving reliability, scalability, performance, security, and developer experience.
- Architect, containerize, deploy, and maintain cloud-native services using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, infrastructure automation, and operational best practices.
- Apply security-first engineering principles, including secure coding practices, secrets management, vulnerability mitigation, and infrastructure protection.
- Drive performance analysis, system optimization, test automation, and reliability improvements across critical services.
- Integrate and manage third-party services and APIs while ensuring operational excellence and observability.
- Explore opportunities to incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities into platform solutions and workflows.
- Serve as a technical mentor and subject matter expert, guiding engineers, influencing architecture decisions, and elevating engineering standards across teams.
- Collaborate closely with product leaders, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and advocate for innovations that improve platform capabilities and create business value.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant expertise in distributed systems, platform engineering, and large-scale architecture design.
- Strong proficiency in typed and functional programming languages such as C#, TypeScript, Haskell, Scala, or comparable technologies.
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, including secure, scalable, and maintainable system design.
- Extensive experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, with strong knowledge of PostgreSQL preferred.
- Proven expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or equivalent cloud-native technologies and infrastructure platforms.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and automation practices.
- Experience implementing application and infrastructure security best practices across development and operational environments.
- Demonstrated success in performance optimization, scalability improvements, testing strategies, and system reliability initiatives.
- Experience integrating, monitoring, and managing third-party APIs and external services.
- Interest or hands-on experience with AI and machine learning technologies in production environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity while making sound technical decisions.
- Proven mentoring and leadership capabilities, with a track record of helping engineers grow and increasing overall team effectiveness.
