Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated delivery driver to join our team in the Bay Area. This role is responsible for supporting daily delivery routes, including checking order pulls for accuracy, safely and effectively executing deliveries to accounts, effectively communicating unforeseen issues that may occur with route schedules or during deliveries while on the road or at accounts. The driver is responsible to ensure products are handled safely and efficiently, maintains accurate inventory or what is pulled and delivered to accounts, and provides excellent customer service and teamwork.

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented Delivery Driver to support our Bay Area distribution operations. This position is responsible for coordinating with our third-party logistics (3PL) provider to verify order accuracy, execute daily delivery routes, and ensure timely and professional service to customers throughout the region.

The Delivery Driver will serve as the primary field representative for the company in the Bay Area and will work closely with management located in Southern California.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with remote management and logistics partners.

The ideal candidate will ensure products are delivered accurately and safely, maintain proper documentation and inventory accountability, proactively communicate delivery issues or service concerns, and provide exceptional customer service to retail and on-premise accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and verify orders pulled by the 3PL provider to ensure accuracy prior to loading and delivery.
  • Safely load, transport, unload, and deliver products to customer locations in accordance with company standards and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Routing Administrator and management team regarding route status, delivery completion, delays, customer concerns, and other operational issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery-related matters within the Bay Area market.
  • Obtain and submit signed proof of delivery and all required delivery documentation on a daily basis.
  • Report product shortages, damages, discrepancies, returns, or unsellable merchandise promptly to management.
  • Handle merchandise carefully to ensure products arrive in excellent condition.
  • Assist with inventory verification and reconciliation activities to maintain accurate records of products loaded, delivered, and returned.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal departments regarding delivery issues, order adjustments, inventory concerns, and service requests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during all customer interactions and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, traffic regulations, and applicable state and federal transportation requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned vehicles and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
  • Support special projects, inventory counts, and other operational duties as assigned.
Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance, mechanical, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned delivery vehicles, including both interior and exterior conditions.
  • Monitor vehicle fluid levels, tire condition, lights, and other basic maintenance items to ensure safe operation.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and service appointments with management and approved service providers.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records, mileage logs, fuel receipts, and inspection documentation as required.
  • Immediately report accidents, traffic violations, breakdowns, or safety incidents to management and follow established reporting procedures.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly secured and loaded to prevent product damage, inventory loss, or safety hazards during transport
Qualifications
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Previous delivery, route sales, beverage distribution, logistics, or transportation experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage daily responsibilities with limited on-site supervision.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices, electronic delivery systems, and communication applications.
  • Experience working with warehouses, 3PL providers, or inventory management processes is preferred.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of delivery, route driving, warehouse, logistics, transportation, or customer service experience.
  • Ability to safely operate cargo vans, box trucks, and other delivery vehicles as assigned.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify orders, inventory, and delivery documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent communication with remote management.
  • Proficiency using smartphones, GPS navigation systems, delivery applications, electronic proof-of-delivery systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing delivery schedules and customer needs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to repeatedly load, unload, and move cases of product.
  • Ability to enter and exit delivery vehicles frequently throughout assigned routes.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and warehouse environments.
  • Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in beverage, wine and spirits, food service, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or distribution industries.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of Bay Area roadways, delivery routes, and traffic patterns.\
  • Experience delivering to retail stores, restaurants, grocery chains, or on-premise accounts.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (PODs), invoices, and delivery documentation.
