JOB SUMMARY: SPCC is seeking a dedicated and relationship-focused Supervisor of Supervised Visitation Services to lead and support a team of Visitation Specialists serving children and families involved in complex custody, child welfare, and family court matters. In this role, you will provide reflective supervision, coaching, and operational leadership while ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services that prioritize child safety, family connection, and well-being. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide reflective, administrative, and operational supervision to Visitation Specialists, supporting professional development, service quality, and adherence to trauma-informed, humanity-centered practices.
- Lead team meetings, staff training, coaching, performance management, and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with program standards, policies, and best practices.
- Support program operations, including staff scheduling, caseload oversight, documentation review, data management, coverage coordination, and approval of timecards and related administrative functions.
- Collaborate with courts, community partners, funders, and internal stakeholders to promote effective service delivery, coordinated case planning, and positive outcomes for children and families.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, supervision, and development of staff and interns while fostering an inclusive, equitable, and psychologically safe team environment.
- Monitor program performance through file reviews, data collection, reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership and sound decision-making in complex, high-conflict, or crisis situations, including serving as a program resource in the absence of the Program Manager.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based, trauma-informed supervised visitation practices, including attachment theory, family systems, child development (including infant and early childhood mental health), reflective practice, and relationship-based approaches.
- Understanding of safety, risk, crisis intervention, intimate partner violence, and anti-racist, equity-centered service delivery.
- Ability to manage crisis and high-complexity cases with emotional regulation and professional composure.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and decisive in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based database systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human services (e.g., social work, psychology, human development) required; minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a human services setting preferred. Candidates without a degree may be considered with 5+ years of relevant experience working with children and families impacted by trauma and/or high-conflict custody.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with at-risk children, youth, and families, with knowledge of trauma, family systems, child development, IPV, and structural inequities.
- Strong supervisory, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to balance administrative and clinical/program responsibilities.
