Contract: Cargo Mission Contract (CMC)

Full-Time, 40 hours
The Cargo Mission Contract program managers, engineers, and staff members provide cargo mission engineering and integration services for NASA’s International Space Station (ISS) Program and Artemis campaign. For more than two decades, the team has carefully prepared cargo to withstand both the intense forces of a rocket launch and the microgravity of orbit to sustain human presence in space.
Assignments completed by the team include developing, fabricating, and certifying hardware to support mission objectives. The team works to implement the space station and Artemis manifest requirements for launch, return, and disposal, as well as support logistical and integration functions to maintain adequate crew provisions and supplies to sustain human presence in space.
All of the work associated with this internship is directly applicable to the International Space Station.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Attend various engineering planning meetings and be responsible for documenting discussions and action plans
- Assist management in documenting and tracking engineering designs
- Collaborate with management on projects and provide input as a member of the project’s engineering team
- Participate in work efforts related to Continuous Improvement initiatives
Course of study desired: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
Other general experience, skills desired: Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently after instruction is given.
