About the role
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Manager, Donor Relations to join our Advancement team as we embark on an ambitious campaign to raise $100 million over the next three years. This position reports to the Head of Major Gifts and will play a pivotal role in securing philanthropic funding for Rewiring America’s mission. The Senior Manager, Donor Relations is responsible for creating sophisticated stewardship plans and writing and executing comprehensive materials for individual and institutional funders in a fast-paced environment. This position serves in a project managerial, writing, and editorial role, drafting and ensuring high quality and efficient workflow of communications to donors and prospects – including regular reports and updates, concept papers, and other written materials, as well as fundraising collateral. The Senior Manager tracks and manages information about projects, creates original written materials, and oversees and edits pieces by departmental colleagues. This role is responsible for managing the grant application process, and communicating grant progress. The Senior Manager, Donor Relations works closely with frontline fundraisers to shape stewardship plans for Rewiring America’s most significant donors.
What you'll do
WritingOversee end-to-end production of tailored written materials for donors, and prospects – including concept papers, proposals, donor presentations, gift acknowledgments, grants and other stewardship reports, collateral, and updates for supporters.Ensure communications are of the highest quality and aligned with fundraising strategy and key messages to advance engagement with donors and prospects.Develop deep expertise in Rewiring America’s work and operations. Project manage written work and keep colleagues on track for successful completion; conduct meetings as needed.Fundraising ManagementIn partnership with frontline fundraisers, develop and maintain a plan to apply for, secure, and fulfill philanthropic funding. Maintain a calendar of upcoming reports and proposals, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.Track trends and opportunities to ensure that the case for support expresses Rewiring America’s unique value proposition and considers donor/funder priorities.Relationship ManagementEnsure consistent and meaningful communications with donors to facilitate strong relationship-building and stewardship.Research prospective funders and advise on strategies to motivate significant gifts that align with funder priorities.Assist in planning and execution of funder events.Support special projects and requests related to donor stewardship.Fundraising OperationsCreate and maintain a library of common language and standard documents to streamline the grant writing process.Contribute to the development of the Advancement Team's annual fundraising plan.Create and/or refine departmental policies, procedures, and workflows.Who you are

Core Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Development writer and/or professional writing setting.Strong commitment to the mission, policies and goals of Rewiring America.Experience in donor relations, with a strong understanding of cultivating and maintaining positive donor experiences.Demonstrated expertise working directly with fundraisers to support high level donor stewardship and collateral for six- and seven-figure gifts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an engaging and accessible style to funders.Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to take initiative Strategic thinker, with ability to suggest new approaches, establish and implement systems, and secure buy-in from a range of colleagues. Familiarity with the best practices and ethical standards of nonprofit fundraising.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.Excellent references demonstrating a strong track record for organizations with climate-focused missions.Experience crafting fundraising projections.Content knowledge in climate, renewable energy, and/or building electrification.Facility with technology to support remote team work.BenefitsRewiring America is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

The pay range for this role is:
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 USD, commesurate with qualifications and experience.
