General Maintenance Worker in Atlantic City, New Jersey at Casino Reinvestment Development Authority

JOB SUMMARY: The General Maintenance Worker will support the division’s mission of providing the city and the Tourism District with its clean and green initiative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Water, mow, fertilize and trim all forms of landscaping including lawns, ball fields, trees, plants, and flowers; transport and install topsoil, fertilizer, plants, trees, flowers mulch, seashells, and decorative stones/pavers for garden, planters, and flower beds. Will develop flower beds and follow plant material installation based on design of management.

2. Remove trash, recycling, and miscellaneous debris. Clean and power wash streets; operate street cleaning equipment; remove or paint over graffiti; perform light construction services, irrigation, maintenance and installation.

3. Help maintain organization of the warehouse. Notify management of issues with equipment or vehicles.

4. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience in landscaping and/or construction required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid NJ driver’s license preferred.
• Light construction/landscape/environmental services experience preferred.
• Employee is required to stand, walk, be able to reach, kneel, crouch or crawl; and must regularly be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able and willing to adhere to company guidelines and utilize supplied safety equipment at all applicable times.
• Ability to work during various weather conditions. from extremely cold to extremely hot or during rainy weather.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; may be at risk of electrical shock due to underground electrical lines; and vibration along with the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Must be able to be part of a team and follow direction on how to mow, to plant flowers or trees, spread fertilizer, install ground covering such as mulch or seashells, remove miscellaneous debris such as trash and recycling, remove or paint over graffiti, perform light construction services, paint, and install holiday décor.
