Description: Cabinet Engineer / Architectural Millwork
Mozaik | Cabinet Vision | Custom Cabinetry & Architectural Millwork

Position Summary
The Cabinet Engineer / Architectural Millwork CAD/CAM Programmer converts design intent, architectural drawings, and field information into accurate, production-ready cabinet and millwork packages. This role uses Mozaik and Cabinet Vision to engineer custom cabinetry, casework, and architectural millwork; generate shop drawings, cut lists, bills of materials, labels, and CNC-ready programs; and support a smooth handoff from design through fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities
Review architectural plans, specifications, design drawings, field dimensions, and scope requirements for custom
and architectural millwork projects.
Create accurate shop drawings, approval drawings, sections, details, and production documentation.
Engineer cabinets, casework, panels, moldings, hardware applications, and custom millwork assemblies for
manufacturability and installation.
Program and maintain projects in Mozaik and Cabinet Vision, including construction methods, material libraries,
hardware, machining, and CNC output.
Generate cut lists, bills of materials, purchase requirements, labels, nesting data, and machine-ready files.
Coordinate with designers, project managers, estimators, production teams, installers, vendors, and clients to resolve
technical questions and design conflicts.
Verify dimensions, clearances, tolerances, reveals, hardware requirements, material selections, and installation
conditions before release to production.
Optimize material yield, machining strategy, assembly methods, and production flow while maintaining quality
standards.
Process revisions and change orders accurately, documenting their impact on drawings, materials, labor, and
schedule.
Support the shop floor and installation teams by troubleshooting programming, fabrication, and field-fit issues.
Maintain organized project files, revision control, engineering standards, and reusable software libraries.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience engineering custom cabinetry, commercial casework, or architectural millwork.
Hands-on proficiency with Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or comparable cabinet manufacturing CAD/CAM software.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings, elevations, sections, specifications, and field measurements.
Working knowledge of cabinet construction, joinery, sheet goods, hardwoods, veneers, laminates, edge banding,
hardware, and finishing requirements.
Understanding of CNC machining, tooling, nesting, production sequencing, and fabrication constraints.
Strong mathematical, spatial, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both office and shop-floor teams.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced experience building and maintaining Mozaik or Cabinet Vision catalogs, standards, reports, and machining
rules.
Experience with AutoCAD or other 2D/3D design software.
Knowledge of AWI/AWMAC quality standards and industry best practices.
Experience with ERP, estimating, purchasing, inventory, or production-management systems.
Background in high-end residential, hospitality, retail, institutional, or commercial millwork.
Associate degree, technical certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering technology,
woodworking, or a related field.
