Position Summary
Anstaff Bank is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Universal Banker/Teller to join our team. This position serves as the frontline representative of the bank and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while processing a variety of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to building lasting customer relationships.
What You'll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist customers with banking needs and inquiries.
- Greet customers and direct them to the appropriate banker or department when needed.
- Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Process customer transactions, including:
- Deposits
- Withdrawals
- Transfers
- Check cashing
- Loan payments
- Money orders
- Credit card advances
- Other deposit-related transactions
- Maintain and balance an assigned cash drawer.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault while adhering to cash handling limits and procedures.
- Assist with daily ATM and vault balancing.
- Verify endorsements, identification, and transaction documents to ensure compliance and prevent fraud.
- Determine funds availability in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process and balance transaction items through the bank's image capture and processing systems.
- Maintain customer savings and Christmas Club passbooks as requested.
- Perform branch opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Assist with general office and operational functions as needed.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, prospective customers, and fellow employees.
- Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support department and bank goals through teamwork and effective service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous cash handling, customer service, or banking experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
