Mechanical Solar Installers – Journeyworker & Apprentice in Paris, Texas at GPT Renewables

Position Overview

GPT Renewables is hiring Journeyworker and Apprentice Mechanical Solar Installers for a solar remediation project in Paris, TX.

The scope of work will include removing and replacing damaged solar modules, completing mechanical repairs and component replacements, and supporting general solar remediation activities. Candidates should have experience working in utility-scale solar construction and be comfortable performing hands-on mechanical installation work in an outdoor environment.

Journeyworker Mechanical Installer: $29.00/hour
Apprentice Mechanical Installer: $24.00/hour
Per Diem: $150.00 per work day
Schedule: 50-60 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Remove hail-damaged solar modules and install new replacement modules.

• Assist with the repair and replacement of damaged solar tables and mechanical components.

• Repair and replace dampers as directed.

• Safely operate impact drivers and standard hand tools.

• Follow established installation procedures and project specifications.

• Work efficiently as part of a large solar construction/remediation crew.

• Maintain proper housekeeping throughout the work area.

• Follow all project safety procedures and PPE requirements.

• Perform additional mechanical solar installation and remediation duties as assigned.

Journeyworker Requirements:

• Previous utility-scale solar mechanical installation experience required

• Experience installing and removing solar modules.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently with limited supervision.

• Strong understanding of solar construction safety and mechanical installation practices.

• Ability to use standard hand tools and impact drivers.

Apprentice Requirements:

• Previous solar experience preferred

• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work.

• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with Journeyworkers and Foremen.

• Willingness to learn solar mechanical installation and remediation procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments and varying weather conditions

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Spanish Speaking/Bilingual preferred

• Must follow all site-specific safety requirements and procedures.
