Job Summary

The Dispatch Runner is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of finished goods and materials throughout the facility and between production, chiller, warehouse, and dispatch areas. This position supports daily warehouse and dispatch operations by operating a forklift, loading and unloading box trucks, moving and staging product, palletizing finished goods, and ensuring products are properly transferred and documented. The Runner works closely with Warehouse, Dispatch, and Production teams to ensure product is moved accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move and stage product throughout the facility.
• Move finished goods from production and/or processing areas to the appropriate chiller or storage location.
• Transfer product between the warehouse, chiller, dispatch, and other designated areas.
• Load and unload box trucks, ensuring product is handled safely and efficiently.
• Stage finished goods and orders for shipment according to dispatch requirements.
• Palletize and organize finished product for storage and shipment.
• Build, wrap, secure, and label pallets as needed.
• Verify product quantities, labels, and other information against shipping and transfer documentation.
• Complete and maintain required warehouse and dispatch paperwork accurately.
• Assist with transferring product between pallets, storage locations, and designated production or dispatch areas.
• Inspect pallets and loads to ensure products are properly secured and prepared for movement.
• Communicate with Warehouse, Dispatch, Production, and other departments regarding product movement and shipment needs.
• Maintain organized and clean work areas and follow company housekeeping and GMP requirements.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper forklift operation and safe material-handling practices.
• Report damaged product, equipment issues, inventory discrepancies, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other warehouse, dispatch, and material-handling duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in a food manufacturing or food distribution environment.

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety regulations.

· Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.

· Previous forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred or willingness to become certified.

· Ability to safely operate a forklift in a fast-paced warehouse and food-manufacturing environment.

· Strong attention to detail when handling product and documentation.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with other departments.

· Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
