POSITION DESCRIPTION – Tactical Flight Operations Manager
Job Title: Tactical Flight Operations Manager
Reports to: President
Classification: Exempt
Time Commitment: Rotational (Remote Caribbean Locations)
Position Summary
The Tactical Flight Operations Manager (TFOM) will work directly in support of the President with clients/customers to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget of AIRTEC’s operations. The TFOM is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of deployed flight operations in support of military, government, or contingency missions. The TFOM will support the President to develop program scopes and objectives and will monitor all aspects of the program through the entire life cycle. Support OCONUS-based manned programs ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of aviation activities while serving as the primary liaison between aircrews, maintenance personnel, customers, and operational leadership. The TFOM is responsible for daily success and reporting on flight operations, maintaining operational readiness, managing flight schedules, and adherence to applicable regulations, company policies, and contract requirements.
Essential Functions
- Lead a diverse team of professionals to ensure daily flight operations success.
- Coordinate flight crew schedules with Pilots, Maritime Sensor Operators and Maintenance personnel, assist with the coordination of site scheduled activities among flight crews, subcontractors, and government personnel to ensure achievable operational plan.
- Provide support and guidance to site Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in the execution of daily activities.
- Ensure flight records, situational reports and all related reporting is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), FAA Regulations, flight and ground operations policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining all training records, flight records and flight operations specific records.
- Prepare, verify and submit Government Flight Representative (GFR), if any, required documentation.
- Assist with the execution of flight and ground activities scheduling and provide daily feedback to the site management staff.
- Live and work in the Caribbean area of responsibility for rotational periods of approximately 30 days.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads all Functional Organizational Units (FOUs) to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Manage all housing, transportation, and security requirements.
- Manage site food service operations to ensure crews receive adequate, nutritious meals that support mission requirements and employee well-being.
- This position supervises lower-level department leads and managers. Supervisory duties may include the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining of employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Oversee the daily tasking with subordinates in the program and perform performance evaluations of staff annually.
Skills Required
- Attention to detail and ability to complete required reports on a timely basis.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experienced in the Intelligence Cycle, ISR Targeting Cycle, and Processing Exploitation & Dissemination products.
- Proven independent decision-making skills.
- Operational risk management and aviation safety and compliance.
- Mission planning and execution and operational risk management.
- Logistics and resource management and emergency response coordination.
- Proficiency with aviation management and scheduling systems
Skills Preferred
- Former US Military Aviation or Intelligence Officer, Warrant Officer or NCO/CPO.
- Familiar with Foreign Internal Defense, Unconventional Warfare, Asymmetrical Warfare, and Counter-Insurgency principles, Humanitarian and Stability Operations, joint and interagency doctrine, logistics, communications, and working with foreign and US military senior leaders.
- Strong understanding of Cross-Cultural Communication (oral and written), and working within senior military staffs.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship.
- Must possess a current US passport.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug test.
- Working knowledge of applicable FAA rules, regulations, and standards.
- Solid understanding of the policies and regulations of flight operations as directed by DCMA INST 8210.1C (AR 95-20), CONTRACTOR’S FLIGHT AND GROUND OPERATIONS.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of aviation operations experience.
- Previous experience supporting military, government, or overseas contingency operations preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of flight operations, airfield procedures, and aviation safety programs.
- Experience managing flight schedules, mission planning, and operational control functions.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance, if applicable.
- Valid passport and ability to deploy internationally for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Former military aviation operations officer, flight operations officer, or aviation manager.
- Experience supporting DoD, DOS, DHS, or international aviation contracts.
- Familiarity with ICAO, FAA, and host-nation aviation regulations.
- Experience operating in austere, remote, or expeditionary environments.
Travel requirements
- Travel and rotational deployment throughout the United States and locations outside of the United States, including austere locations, is required.

- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, multi-function printers and smartphones.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
