Job Description
1 | Obtains work orders and material. | |||||
2 | Moves material to unit from staging area. | |||||
3 | * | Numbers piece tickets to ensure that proper ticket goes with right cut of cloth. | ||||
4 | * | Creels a cut of cloth. | ||||
5 | Seams new cut into previous cut. | |||||
6 | * | Sets process conditions by setup running condition sheets, adjusts speed as required. | ||||
7 | * | Keys style, finish, work order number, yards, number of pieces, speed, downtime, downtime reason, date, into computer. | ||||
8 | * | Assists other operators in items such as cleaning, threading and getting process conditions as needed to insure proper setup and quality of the product. | ||||
9 | * | Informs Finishing Supervisor or Operator 2 of major malfunction of finishing unit and writes maintenance shop orders to repair minor malfunctions. | ||||
10 | Plots P.L.D., roll hardness, seam strength, etc. on control charts and determine appropriate disposition of fabric accordingly. | |||||
11 | * | Cleans pads and dryers and inspects for defects between finish change. | ||||
12 | * | Delivers proper finish to unit and/or verifies that proper finish is used. Maintains proper finish levels and avoids wasting finish. | ||||
13 | * | Adjusts pad pressures and speeds to correct finish add-on when Physical Testing Lab reports out of spec. results. | ||||
14 | * | Adjusts rheostats for tension to control width. | ||||
15 | * | Adjusts accumulators, dryer conditions, and speed within specified tolerances to eliminate creases. | ||||
16 | * | Observes material being processed for visual (pick line distortion, snags, spots, etc.). Finishing defects and makes adjustments as needed to maintain satisfactory quality. | ||||
17 | Obtains, records, and writes process deviation sheets to record deviations from standard running conditions due to quality problems or lack of running conditions. | |||||
18 | * | Controls pick line with operated bow and bias control. | ||||
19 | Flags seams for customers as required. | |||||
20 | Trims seams and filling tails. | |||||
21 | * | Doffs, cuts, and wraps roll after completion. Inspects roll of cloth for soil, defects, and splits after doffing. | ||||
22 | * | Obtains samples as specified in sampling procedures, completes swatch tickets and submits to lab or appropriate personnel. | ||||
23 | Obtains, properly identifies, and submits swatches to the Q.C. Lab. | |||||
24 | Secures right size tube from tube rack and inspects for soiling or defects. | |||||
25 | Wraps material in polyethylene, poly bubble, and paper after finishing as required. | |||||
26 | Moves material after finishing to staging area. | |||||
27 | * | Properly cleans and rethreads unit as needed. | ||||
28 | * | Observes safe work habits and identifies safety concerns needing attention. | ||||
29 | * | Loads batch oven trucks and batch oven. | ||||
30 | * | Sets batch oven controllers for correct cycle, ensures proper cycle during routine shift audits, and monitors for malfunctions. | ||||
31 | Daily inspection of hoist. | |||||
32 | * | Advises Operator 2 or Finishing Supervisor of quality problems. | ||||
33 | Performs general housekeeping to maintain cleanliness of finishing area, serves on corrective action team as needed to correct deficiencies in process. | |||||
