This role is a key corporate quality leadership position responsible for driving consistency, technical excellence, and compliance across multiple non-destructive testing (NDT) service lines. You will act as a senior technical authority and Level III expert, ensuring inspection methods, procedures, and certification programs meet the highest industry and regulatory standards. Working across a large, multi-region organization, you will partner closely with operations, engineering, and training teams to standardize practices and elevate quality performance. The position blends deep hands-on NDT expertise with strategic leadership, supporting both field execution and long-term quality improvement initiatives. It offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, strengthen reliability programs, and shape how critical inspections are delivered across industrial sectors. This is a highly impactful role where your decisions directly support safety, asset integrity, and operational excellence.
This role is responsible for leading corporate-level NDT quality systems, ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across all service lines. You will develop and maintain technical standards while acting as a key subject matter expert supporting field operations and leadership teams.
- Develop, review, revise, and approve NDT procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation in line with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements
- Serve as corporate Level III authority for multiple NDT methods, including MT, PT, UTT, LT, MFL, and Eddy Current testing
- Standardize and implement NDT quality programs across regions, ensuring consistent application of procedures and best practices
- Provide technical guidance on codes, standards, and inspection methodologies to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support technician certification and qualification programs in alignment with SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, NAS-410, and internal requirements
- Conduct technical and quality audits of field operations, programs, and personnel to ensure compliance and performance consistency
- Evaluate emerging NDT technologies and methodologies to support innovation and capability expansion
- Partner with leadership teams to identify training needs and strengthen technical competency across service lines
- Support customer audits, technical reviews, and proposal or qualification activities as needed
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality events and technical findings
This position requires extensive NDT technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and proven experience in quality systems and procedure development. The ideal candidate is a certified Level III professional with deep knowledge of industry standards and the ability to influence across a large organization.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in the NDT industry with strong exposure to quality and technical leadership roles
- Current ASNT Level III certifications in multiple methods including MT, PT, UTT, LT, MFL, and ET
- Strong experience developing, writing, reviewing, and implementing NDT procedures and inspection documentation
- Proven ability to support technician certification and qualification programs in regulated environments
- Deep knowledge of industry codes and standards including ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, SNT-TC-1A, and CP-189
- Experience conducting technical audits, compliance reviews, and quality assessments across multiple sites or regions
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and influence technical teams
- Familiarity with advanced NDT methods such as PAUT, TOFD, radiography techniques, and guided wave testing is a strong advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
