About Halo Technical Solutions Global

Halo Technical Solutions Global is a technical consulting and project support firm focused on quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning for complex industrial and infrastructure projects. The company partners closely with project teams to deliver clear processes, practical solutions, and improved visibility across all phases of execution.

Halo provides turnkey QA/QC and commissioning management, BIM-driven 3D/4D execution, logistics coordination, LiDAR scanning and drone deployment, vendor and project management, and general staff augmentation. Their approach emphasizes asset-level clarity, from early design and asset tagging through scheduling, completions management, and system-level execution.

By integrating assets into digital platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and leveraging analytics through tools like Power BI, Halo enables teams to execute, monitor, and optimize performance with transparency and control. The company’s implementation strategy is built around understanding stakeholder pain points, identifying gaps, developing site-specific solutions, and delivering comprehensive training to support long-term success.

Halo Technical Solutions Global’s mission is to support project teams with structured, data-driven execution that aligns with owner requirements and drives confident, efficient project delivery.

Position Overview

The QA/QC Field Engineer – Electrical & Controls role is an owner-level field position within Halo Technical Solutions Global’s quality and commissioning support team. This role is responsible for validating the execution of electrical and controls commissioning activities, supporting in-field quality oversight, and ensuring that contractor and Commissioning Agent activities are performed in alignment with project requirements, design intent, quality standards, and turnover expectations.

This position does not function as the primary Commissioning Agent, but instead provides owner-side validation, field verification, issue identification, documentation review, and technical support throughout construction, startup, commissioning, and turnover. Operating in fast-paced environments such as data centers, manufacturing facilities, and other mission-critical infrastructure, this role helps ensure that electrical and controls systems are installed, tested, documented, and turned over properly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide owner-side QA/QC field support for electrical and controls systems during construction, startup, commissioning, and turnover
  • Support owner-side oversight of Commissioning Agent execution, including field testing, documentation, issue tracking, and commissioning milestone completion
  • Witness and verify FAT, SAT, startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and related commissioning activities
  • Review commissioning scripts, checklists, test records, turnover packages, and QA/QC documentation for completeness and compliance
  • Perform field walks to verify installation quality, commissioning readiness, turnover status, and closure of open items
  • Identify electrical and controls deficiencies, field-to-design conflicts, incomplete work, and commissioning constraints
  • Coordinate with contractors, Commissioning Agents, engineers, vendors, and owner representatives to support timely issue resolution
  • Support punch lists, NCRs, observations, deficiencies, and commissioning issues through closure
  • Provide clear field reports, weekly summaries, quality observations, and commissioning status updates
  • Support AHJ inspections, owner acceptance walks, and system turnover activities as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of electrical QA/QC, field engineering, commissioning support, or electrical inspection experience
  • Electrical construction background in industrial, data center, manufacturing, or large-scale commercial environments
  • Experience with electrical distribution, controls infrastructure, conduit, cable tray, terminations, panels, switchgear, instrumentation, and low-voltage control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, controls drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, submittals, and commissioning documentation
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, functional testing, turnover packages, punch lists, and issue tracking
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical safety/code requirements
  • Strong field documentation, reporting, coordination, and issue-resolution skills
  • OSHA 10 prior to site arrival
  • NFPA 70E certification required; may be completed upon site arrival or within the first month of employment
  • Journeyman Electrician License preferred; may be required depending on project location or client requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Experience on data center, manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
  • Prior owner’s representative, QA/QC, commissioning, or field engineering experience
  • Experience validating Commissioning Agent execution or supporting owner-side commissioning oversight
  • Familiarity with platforms such as ACC, CxAlloy, BIM 360, Procore, or similar systems
  • Experience reviewing commissioning documentation, test scripts, punch lists, turnover packages, and closeout deliverables
  • Exposure to integrated systems testing, electrical commissioning, controls commissioning, and multi-trade coordination
