Schedule: Full-Time; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, four days per week, and 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, one day per week; rotating weekends required; closed holidays.

Bistro Attendant - Position Summary
The Bistro Attendant is responsible for providing high-quality hospitality service within the community’s bistro or café environment. This role supports daily operations by preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents, guests, and team members.
The Bistro Attendant plays an important role in enhancing the resident experience by delivering attentive service that aligns with Legacy Pointe’s standards of Hospitality, Service, and Accountability. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, warmth, and a service-focused attitude.
In addition to bistro service, this position may assist with food preparation, stocking, point-of-sale transactions, maintaining attractive food displays, supporting special events, and providing coverage in other dining areas as needed. The Bistro Attendant helps ensure food safety standards are met, supplies are properly maintained, and the bistro remains an inviting gathering space within the community.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- At least two years of experience in a café, barista, quick-service restaurant, hospitality, or similar food service setting preferred.
- Prior experience preparing coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, smoothies, light food items, pastries, desserts, or grab-and-go offerings preferred.
- Experience working in senior living, healthcare dining, hospitality, or customer-facing food service is helpful.
- Ability to obtain Food Handler certification within the required timeframe, if applicable.
- Must be comfortable working in a forward-facing, highly engaging role with frequent resident, guest, and team member interaction.
- Must have a warm, welcoming personality and the ability to greet residents and guests with a smile.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, patience, and a strong commitment to hospitality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and excellent customer service.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion control standards, food presentation guidelines, and community procedures.
- Ability to accurately operate a point-of-sale system, process resident meal plan charges, and handle cash transactions as needed.
- Ability to maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation and service areas.
- Ability to monitor food temperatures, rotate inventory, and follow food safety and infection control standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with residents, guests, and team members in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
- Ability to build positive rapport with residents and anticipate preferences when possible.
- Ability to respond to concerns professionally and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate.
- Ability to assist with opening and closing procedures, stocking, cleaning, and end-of-shift responsibilities.
- Ability to support special events, themed dining days, happy hours, or campus-wide activities requiring bistro service or beverage stations.
- Willingness to cross-train and provide coverage in the main dining room, assisted living dining, skilled nursing dining, or other service venues as needed.
- Ability to perform server responsibilities as needed, including table service, order taking, tray service, food running, beverage refills, and dining room reset.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work the assigned full-time schedule, rotating weekends, and varied shifts as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull items as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining resident dignity, safety, confidentiality, and service excellence at all times.
