This is a senior infrastructure leadership role responsible for shaping and running enterprise-grade platform services across virtualization, operating systems, and middleware environments. The position sits at the center of critical technology operations, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of foundational systems that support business-critical applications. You will lead a skilled technical team managing complex hybrid infrastructure, including private cloud and multi-OS environments. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on operational governance, driving modernization through automation, standardization, and cloud transformation. You will collaborate closely with architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure alignment across the enterprise. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity where platform reliability, efficiency, and innovation directly influence business performance and digital transformation outcomes.
In this role, you will lead the strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of enterprise platform services across virtualization, operating systems, and middleware environments. You will oversee a technical team responsible for ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and security while driving modernization initiatives across infrastructure domains.
- Lead and develop teams managing virtualization, OS (Linux, Windows Server, AIX), and middleware platforms, including performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
- Define and enforce service delivery standards, operational metrics, governance frameworks, and best practices across platform services.
- Oversee VMware and private cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, capacity planning, and resilience.
- Manage full lifecycle operations of enterprise operating systems, including patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and incident resolution.
- Supervise middleware platforms to ensure availability, security, compliance, and effective support for enterprise applications.
- Drive automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, and self-service capabilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, and application teams to ensure platform alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead vendor management activities, including licensing, service reviews, escalations, and contract renewals.
This role requires extensive experience in enterprise infrastructure environments combined with strong leadership capabilities and technical depth across virtualization, operating systems, and middleware technologies.
- 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms, including virtualization, OS, and middleware systems.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, private cloud environments, Linux, Windows Server, AIX, and enterprise middleware technologies.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure automation, monitoring tools, and modern operational practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Proven experience in platform lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, including vulnerability management and audit readiness.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale environments and collaborating across cybersecurity, application, and architecture teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy into operational execution and influence stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Competitive base salary range of $138,750 – $240,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications
