What You'll Do as a Provider Liaison/Business Development Manager
- Identify new business opportunities and serve as the communication liaison with local medical providers.
- Partner with the creative team, executive leaders, physician partners, and other stakeholders to research, design, and implement multichannel business development and marketing plans.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media outlets; coordinate media escorts, create talking points, and prepare subject matter experts for interviews.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to community groups, telling the UNC Health Appalachian story.
- Serve as a data analyst for the marketing team — monitoring key performance indicators and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Approach work with a bias for action, efficiency, and personal accountability, modeling UNC Health Appalachian's Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Foster professional, productive working relationships that promote a healthy work environment.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field of study. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of healthcare marketing and communications experience preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- None required.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills; ability to work within the chain of command using positive verbal and non-verbal techniques.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with local media (newspapers, news channels, etc.).
- Knowledge of the continuum of care provided within the organization.
- Exceptional customer service for patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Physical & Work Environment
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, often 8+ hours per day.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition; near visual acuity and close eye work; speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods.
- Occasional local and regional travel for media, community, and stakeholder engagements.
- May occasionally work outside standard hours for events or media commitments.
