Overview

The Sample Department Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sample department, ensuring all sample orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and shipped on time. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for department workflows, team performance, and process execution. The Team Lead will work closely with department personnel to ensure responsibilities are completed, priorities are managed effectively, and operational goals are achieved.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing manufacturing or production-related processes, coordinating workflows, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Compensation: Starting at $24/hour

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the Sample Department.
  • Coordinate daily workloads and priorities to ensure all sample requests are fulfilled and shipped on schedule.
  • Provide direction, and support to team members to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Monitor employee performance and accountability to ensure assigned duties are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Manage department workflows to ensure timely processing, production, and shipment of samples.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to department activities.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Communicate priorities, production status, and potential delays to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving operational issues and escalations that impact customer service or delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all samples meet company quality standards before shipment.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for department processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support training and onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in a supervisory, team lead, manufacturing, production, or operations role.
  • Proven experience managing workflows, processes, and team performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while leading and motivating a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, fulfillment, or sample management operations.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM/ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and shipping processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or process optimization experience.
