Join LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Gainesville, FL, as our Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering the company’s volunteer and internship programs. You will serve as the primary point of contact for work-study partners, educational institutions, community organizations, and the public in support of the company’s volunteer and work-based learning initiatives.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate, develop, and administer volunteer and internship opportunities across the organization, in support of company initiatives and departmental needs
- Collaborate with HR and departmental leaders to ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and risk management related to volunteers and interns
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for volunteers and interns, addressing questions, concerns, and to provide guidance through their participation
- Serve as the primary liaison for educational institutions, work-study programs, community organizations, and individuals as it relates to volunteer and internship opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and the public to promote volunteer and internship opportunities
- Regularly evaluate program effectiveness, collecting and analyzing data to recommend improvements and ensure continuous program enhancement
- Manage the administrative functions associated with onboarding volunteers and interns, to include document collection, compliance verification, scheduling, and orientation coordination
- Track volunteer and intern hours, maintain accurate program records, and prepare reports as required
- Identify and coordinate grant opportunities that support internship and volunteer participation, including required documentation and reporting
- Represent the organization in community outreach through events, presentations, and partnership activities that support intern and volunteer engagement
- Develop, update, and maintain program materials, communications, and standard operating procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners in all program-related interactions
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and dependable transportation
What We Need
- Associate degree required
- At least one year of experience in program coordination, human resources, volunteer management, or a related field required
- Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other software used for tracking, reporting, and data management
- Knowledge of program coordination principles and practices, including volunteer and internship program administration
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs, projects, and administrative activities while meeting deadlines and organizational objectives
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making within established policies, procedures, and program guidelines
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to collect, maintain, analyze, and report program data to support operational effectiveness and informed decision-making
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive experiences for volunteers, interns, program participants, and community partners
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience coordinating volunteer programs, internship programs, community outreach initiatives, or educational partnerships preferred

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.
