About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable IT Hardware Operations & Shipping Specialist to support warehouse operations, logistics, IT asset processing, and hardware refurbishment activities. This hands-on role involves shipping and receiving, inventory management, hardware testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment processing in a fast-paced environment.

The position includes inspecting, testing, documenting, repairing, and upgrading IT hardware. The successful candidate will be trained on our testing and grading methodologies and, once trained, will independently perform hardware testing, basic troubleshooting, and equipment evaluation.

What you'll do

Shipping & Receiving

  • Process inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of IT hardware and related equipment.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and other required paperwork.
  • Ensure shipments are packaged securely and appropriately for domestic and international transportation.
  • Receive incoming equipment, verify quantities and condition, and identify discrepancies or damage.
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Follow applicable shipping, export, and hazardous material requirements when applicable.

IT Hardware Processing, Testing & Repair

  • Audit, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and document IT hardware according to established procedures.
  • Perform basic warranty and minor hardware repairs, including installing, upgrading, replacing, or removing components as needed.
  • Accurately record equipment condition, test results, and repair activities.
  • Identify equipment requiring additional testing, repair, grading, recycling, or resale preparation.
  • Learn and apply company testing, grading, and quality standards. Will be taught our desired methodology of grading.
  • Independently perform hardware testing and basic troubleshooting after training, escalating complex issues when necessary. Once trained, would be responsible for the testing task.

Packaging & Inventory

  • Package IT hardware efficiently and securely according to product type and shipping requirements.
  • Bin and organize equipment in designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations and assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
  • Label and identify equipment appropriately throughout the processing and storage cycle.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.

Workflow Management

  • Manage and prioritize daily workloads based on shipping deadlines, customer requirements, inventory needs, and operational priorities.
  • Move efficiently between multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Identify bottlenecks and communicate issues that may affect workflow or shipping schedules.
  • Work closely with warehouse, operations, sales, and management teams to keep material moving through the facility.
  • Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, logistics, ITAD, computer refurbishment, electronics repair, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, storage, and networking equipment.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or processing IT hardware is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record equipment and inventory information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn inventory, shipping, and asset-management systems.
