Maintenance Carpenter
Location: Ottumwa, IA
Job Type: Full-time, 7am-3:30pm
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
About the RoleAs a Maintenance Carpenter, you will play an essential role in keeping First Resources Corp. facilities, grounds, and equipment safe, clean, and fully operational. Working under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, you will handle routine repairs, preventive maintenance, groundskeeping, and facility upkeep across agency locations.

Key Responsibilities- Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on agency buildings, equipment, and vehicles. Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Groundskeeping & Custodial: Manage lawn care, snow removal, bi-weekly deep cleaning, and general custodial duties to maintain safe and welcoming facilities.
- Preventive Inspections: Conduct regular safety and security inspections to ensure compliance with ADA, federal guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Equipment & Inventory: Operate motorized lifts and rental equipment safely. Manage maintenance supply requisitions and keep tools and workspaces organized and secure.
- Logistics & Support: Assist with moving office and residential furniture, picking up supplies, and completing facility setup tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- OSHA 10-Hour certification within 6 months of employment.
- Experience with general maintenance of vehicles, plumbing, electrical, and mechanics of equipment required.
- Must be able to manipulate stairways, climb ladders, and work at high elevations.
- Certification of formal technical training with preference mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in the maintenance field.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment, work in confined space, able to use hand/electric power and hand tools.
- Experience with general maintenance of vehicles, plumbing, electrical, and mechanics of equipment required.
- Physically moves bulky and or heavy equipment as needed.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Ability to keep a set schedule within the workweek.
- Participates in the on-call rotation of a designated group.
- Must be available during inclement weather, flood or fire emergences.
- The ability to clearly communicate in oral and written fashion is required. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
- Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
- Must have valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
