Security Manager in Chicago, Illinois at The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago

• Conducting regular patrol of the property to ensure all areas are safe and secure
• Ensuring security team takes on both a proactive property security and customer care/contact and support role
• Managing the hotel’s emergency plans
• Establishing safety guidelines for hotel employees and guests
• Directing key and property access control policies and practices
• Handling complaints, investigating and thoroughly reporting on customer or employee injuries, workers’ compensation claims, thefts, assaults, lost property, car accidents, vandalism and other complaints as necessary
• Conducting all internal and external investigations as needed
• Maintaining responsibility for handling any emergency that would require partial or complete evacuation of the hotel
• Managing the day-to-day activities of the Security department
• Promoting awareness and providing security training for management and line staff
• Participating in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Radisson’s overall mission, vision, values and strategies
• Directing department budgets, forecast, payroll and training activities
• Establishing policies/procedures
• Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
• Taking a leadership role with both the Security team and Safety Committee
• Assist with recruiting and selecting qualified candidates
• Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
• Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
• Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential
• Creates 100% guest satisfaction! Genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
• Communicates and demonstrates service to other employees
• Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
• Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
• Performs other duties as required to provide genuine hospitality
• Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guest.

• Associates/Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred. Additional training, (e.g. military, law enforcement) and education is highly desirable.
• Two years Security Supervisory experience preferred
• Minimum of two years experience at an upper upscale brand property within the past five years
• Able to resolve conflicts, guests, supervisor and employee
• Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
• Excellent multitasking skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

In accordance with Illinois law, the anticipated pay range for this position is:

$62k-$65k per year

The final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market conditions.
