Job Description

Vitesse Systems is looking for an Integration & Test Technician II to join the team in Harbor City, California! The Integration & Test Technician supports the assembly, integration, tuning, testing, and verification of RF microwave and waveguide-based components used in ground station antenna systems.

The Role

The Integration & Test Technician role is primarily hands-on, with approximately 75% focused on mechanical assembly and integration work and 25% focused on RF testing and verification.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Integration

  • Perform assembly and disassembly tasks using hand tools in accordance with travelers, drawings, and work instructions
  • Build Mandrel assemblies and verify electrical conductivity
  • Perform hand mechanical solder operations
  • Assist in integration of waveguide and RF components into subassemblies
  • Electromechanical Systems

  • Wire electromechanical assemblies such as motors, encoders, and waveguide switches
  • Verify proper functionality of wired systems
  • RF Testing & Verification

  • Perform tune, test, and verification of RF microwave components
  • Execute RF test procedures and test plans in accordance with engineering requirements
  • Support RF testing activities utilizing vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other RF test equipment
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic RF test discrepancies under supervision
  • Verify product performance against established specifications and acceptance
  • Mechanical Validation & Quality

  • Perform sealing operations and leak test verifications
  • Inspect assemblies for workmanship and compliance with specifications
  • Document test results and report discrepancies
  • Workplace & Compliance

  • Follow all applicable procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S, including cleanup after task completion
  • Success Metrics

  • Throughput (units completed vs. plan)
  • On-Time completion of assigned work orders/travelers
  • First-pass yield (builds passing inspection without rework
  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications & Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience within aerospace, satellite communications, defense, or related manufacturing environments preferred
    • Engineering Degree is a plus
    • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical blueprints
    • General knowledge of RF measurement equipment and techniques preferred
    • Familiarity with RF measurements equipment and techniques preferred
    • Experience with hand tools
    • Experience with SolidWorks/CAD is a plus/CAD
    • High attention to detail
    • Interest in mechanical assembly or technical work
    • Familiarity with basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc)
    • Prior experience in machining, or inspection
    • Awareness of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 or similar)
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
    • Good attention to detail and pride in hands-on work
    • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
    • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
    • Dependable, punctual, and consistent in completing assigned tasks
    • Positive attitude and openness to feedback and training
