Job Description

The Class A CDL Delivery & Roof Loading Specialist is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering roofing materials to customer job sites while ensuring exceptional customer experience. This position spends about 85% of the time loading and unloading roofing materials using conveyor trucks and assisting with rooftop deliveries, and 15% of the time operating Class A commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing physically demanding work, willing to work at heights when necessary, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient delivery operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport roofing materials and building products when required.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload roofing materials while maintaining product integrity and delivery accuracy.
  • Perform rooftop and ground-level deliveries using conveyor trucks and other material-handling equipment.
  • Physically load and handle freight for every roof delivery, ensuring materials are properly staged and safely distributed.
  • Assist with rooftop loading operations and work on roofs when necessary while following all safety procedures.
  • Verify load accuracy before departure and confirm delivered materials match shipping documentation.
  • Guide trucks and trailers into delivery locations while maintaining awareness of site conditions and potential hazards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and coworkers during all delivery activities.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Count, verify, and unload incoming shipments and inventory as needed.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, inspection reports, and required DOT documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, conveyor trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, vehicles, and warehouse spaces.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and delivery procedures.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and perform other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to operate a Class A commercial vehicle when needed.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous roofing, building materials, warehouse, delivery, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • HAZMAT endorsement preferred.
  • TWIC card preferred.
  • Moffett, forklift experience preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles, forklifts, conveyor trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivery accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, shipping documents, delivery paperwork, and safety procedures.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and any applicable DOT requirements.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to repeatedly load, unload, and physically handle roofing materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability and willingness to climb ladders, work at heights, and access rooftops safely when required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and direct sunlight.
  • Must maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, safe driving practices, and customer satisfaction.
