Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, internal controls, payroll oversight, cost accounting, and intercompany accounting. This is a hands-on leadership role that works closely with the President and senior management team to support strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial information.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Perform variance analyses and provide insight into financial performance and trends.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for senior management as needed.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Develop financial forecasts and monitor actual performance against budgets and projections.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and revenue enhancement.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Accounting Operations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for state income tax and sales tax filings and related compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
  • Utilize cost accounting methodologies to analyze and report product and service costs.
  • Oversee manufacturing and project accounting processes to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
  • Manage intercompany accounting activities for multiple entities within the organization.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to managers and departments across the organization.
  • Promote a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting for multiple entities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, and project accounting.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • This is a highly hands-on Controller role requiring active involvement in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis.
Preferred
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience managing payroll processes.
  • Experience with Research & Development (R&D) tax credits.
  • Internal audit experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

The pay range for this role is:
140,000 - 160,000 USD per year(Tualatin HQ)
