This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Executive - Mechanical Pipe HVAC based in United States.
This is a senior construction leadership role responsible for guiding complex mechanical projects from inception through successful completion. You will oversee major projects involving mechanical piping, HVAC, and related construction activities while maintaining strong control over schedules, budgets, profitability, quality, and safety. The position combines executive-level project oversight with hands-on collaboration across project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients. You will mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers while providing direction on critical project decisions. A major focus will be maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring projects meet commercial and operational objectives. This opportunity is suited to an experienced industrial construction leader who thrives in complex environments and is comfortable taking ownership of high-value projects.
- Mentor, guide, and advise Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee high-profile and complex construction projects with significant responsibility and limited executive oversight.
- Collaborate with project and team leaders to allocate resources effectively and maintain project schedules.
- Participate in project hand-off meetings to gather key information, clarify expectations, and establish project priorities.
- Review and approve construction project documentation and Schedules of Values used for owner billing.
- Actively manage project schedules, budgets, costs, and overall profitability.
- Review, negotiate, and approve high-value subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Review and approve monthly project billing and invoices.
- Oversee pricing, negotiations, and authorization of project scope changes and change orders.
- Review and approve Notices of Delay to appropriately document external impacts to project schedules.
- Participate in recruiting and hiring project management and field personnel.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and support the development of project team members.
- Ensure projects maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism.
- Maintain organized and safe job sites while ensuring project tracking documentation remains accurate and current.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, collaboration, and a consistent focus on project success.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in industrial construction, including demonstrated responsibility for projects valued at $75 million or more.
- Extensive experience managing construction project budgets, schedules, profitability, and cost controls.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, project management processes, and contract administration.
- Strong familiarity with contracts, subcontracts, change management, negotiations, and commercial project documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor project management and field teams.
- Experience with construction and project management software such as Procore.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with construction safety and quality standards.
- OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR training.
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, negotiation, forecasting, and cost-control capabilities.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts and manage challenging project situations effectively.
- Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and planning abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- PMP, SPMP, CCM, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
- Willingness to work at the assigned project location as required by the project.
