Job Overview
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in leading our maintenance team and oversee the Saturday preventative maintenance crew. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our cut and wrap facility by maintaining equipment, updating maintenance plans, and supervising a team of mechanics.
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 10:30am-7:00pm, Saturday 6:00am-2:30pm (with some flexibility in hours)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the senior mechanic, providing technical expertise and leadership.
- Direct the activities of the Saturday maintenance and Sanitation Teams. Supervise the Parts Support process.
- Review and update the preventative maintenance plan for all equipment in the facility. Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules.
- Oversee and support the training of mechanics to company standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Fill in for the Maintenance Manager, including attending required meetings, in the event the Maintenance Manager is not available.
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to address equipment issues and improve overall plant efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address potential issues before they become critical.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to continuously improve maintenance processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant computer applications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Attention to detail.
