Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks for software, APIs, integrations, and supported hardware.
Execute functional, integration, regression, performance, reliability, and release-candidate testing against defined quality criteria.
Develop risk-based test strategies and comprehensive test plans that support reliable, production-ready releases.
Collaborate with software developers to establish test environments, test data, tooling, and conditions for effective development testing.
Integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid and actionable feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
Use approved AI-assisted tools to accelerate test design, script generation, defect analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Validate all AI-generated outputs, protect confidential information, and retain professional accountability for testing decisions and results.
Identify, document, investigate, and communicate software and hardware defects with clear evidence and reproducible steps.
Monitor quality metrics, analyse recurring failure patterns, and recommend improvements to products, processes, and test coverage.
Create and maintain test procedures, quality records, release documentation, and technical guidance for development and production teams.

Requirements

Education and professional experience

University or college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional experience in software quality engineering, test automation, software testing, or a related role.
Experience designing, implementing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test suites.
Experience testing software applications, APIs, system integrations, and, preferably, connected hardware.
Experience identifying, investigating, documenting, and tracking defects using reproducible evidence.
Experience contributing to test strategies, risk-based test plans, release validation, and quality reporting.
Experience integrating automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines is preferred.

Language skills

Good command of written and spoken English, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate test results.

Technical skills

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance practices, and the software development lifecycle.
Practical knowledge of functional, integration, regression, performance, reliability, and release-candidate testing.
Proficiency with one or more programming or scripting languages used for test automation.
Experience with automated testing frameworks, API-testing tools, test-management systems, and defect-tracking platforms.
Ability to configure and maintain test environments, test data, mocks, simulators, and supporting test infrastructure.
Working knowledge of version control, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and cloud-based development environments.
Ability to use approved AI-assisted tools for test design, script generation, defect analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of the limitations and risks of AI-generated outputs, including validation, confidentiality, security, and accountability requirements.
