Your Mission:
The Laser Track Trainee supports dimensional inspection and measurement activities using portable laser tracking systems while learning fundamental metrology skills. This entry-level role assists technicians with production, tooling verification, and quality assurance tasks under direct supervision.
Explore the Depth of the Role:
- Assist with setup and breakdown of laser tracker equipment.
- Learn to operate laser tracker systems under close supervision.
- Support basic part inspections and measurement data collection.
- Help verify fixture and tooling dimensions.
- Assist with recording data and preparing simple inspection reports.
- Follow established metrology procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and support calibration log upkeep.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Mission Readiness:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, quality, or inspection helpful but not required.
- Basic understanding of measurements and willingness to learn blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing fundamentals is a plus.
- Attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel between facilities, as business needs require.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly
- May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
Work Environment:
- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
