Job Description

Job purpose

The Maintenance Tech Level II is responsible for conducting scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and servicing equipment calls across the production floor. This role encompasses both on-the-spot repairs and complex maintenance requiring a formal Work Order (WO). The incumbent is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all employee safety, food safety, facility audits, and GMP requirements at all times, adhering to all state and federal regulatory standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Performs regular maintenance service/duties (PMs) as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain manufacturing assets and facility infrastructure, including lubrication, routine monitoring, and filter inspections.
  • Provide technical support, training, and continuous development guidance for personnel.
  • Submit accurate reports at the end of each shift detailing maintenance work accomplished.
  • Follows all food safety guidelines and protocols while servicing equipment
  • Model the Company’s Safety Culture and always strive for 100% Safety compliance
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule: other shifts, weekends, holidays as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a maintenance technician role.
  • Proven ability to read and follow equipment manuals and technical instructions in English.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in specific skill sets, such as HVAC, electrical, machining, welding, or related fields.
  • Must be able to perform diagnostics on controls & settings, measuring tools, internal & external machine diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in component replacement (pumps, bearings, controls, valves, etc.) and responsibility for identifying and ordering necessary replacement parts to maintain inventory levels.
  • Prior experience in the Food Industry (preferred)
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training (preferred, not required).

Experience & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Maintenance & Reliability best practices.
  • Solid background in HACCP, Safety, GMPs, and regulatory food safety audits.
  • Ability to execute and mentor on Tech Level I tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word); experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and CAD (a plus).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and professional etiquette.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a proactive "can-do," hands-on work ethic.

Working conditions

  • Must be able to work any and all shifts as directed.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures.

Physical requirements

  • Must wear non-slip, safety-resistant work shoes.
  • Participation in mandatory pre-shift stretches and exercises.
  • Proper use of required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets (if needed), and safety gloves.
  • Must wear all required PPE when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection.
  • Physical ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.
  • Must possess the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.
