- Research and analyze utility avoided cost filings, regulatory proceedings, and market frameworks to support pricing strategies for residential capacity resources.
- Monitor state-level regulatory developments, utility programs, and energy market trends to identify opportunities and barriers for virtual power plant participation.
- Translate regulatory and policy insights into clear business recommendations for internal stakeholders across revenue, sales, and business development functions.
- Support policy engagement initiatives through participation in filings, stakeholder meetings, comment letters, and regulatory processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities, regulators, and policy stakeholders to strengthen market positioning and industry collaboration.
- Provide regular updates and reporting on policy developments, market structures, and utility program changes that may impact go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align regulatory priorities with broader business objectives and organizational OKRs.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that support lower-cost, lower-carbon, and more resilient residential energy systems.
- 2–4+ years of experience in energy regulation, utility program design, energy policy, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy market structures, utility procurement processes, and regulatory frameworks including FERC, state PUCs, and avoided cost methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to connect policy and regulatory developments to business strategy, revenue growth, and market opportunities.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical or regulatory topics for diverse audiences.
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to independently manage priorities and deliverables.
- Familiarity with virtual power plants, distributed energy resources, demand response, or capacity markets is highly valued.
- Experience in startup, technology, or rapidly evolving business environments is a plus.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $145,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
