POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for growing the museum's audience, reputation, and revenue by defining brand strategy, content, and channel execution. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, this role plays a critical role in audience growth, engagement, visitor experience, and driving revenue through insight-led strategy and execution. The Director of Marketing will support the day-to-day management and execution of integrated marketing initiatives that further the museum’s mission, audience engagement goals, and revenue objectives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement
- Manage a small but high-performing marketing team in creating innovative campaigns that promote the museum's exhibitions, programs, and events
- Manage marketing calendars, workflows, and departmental processes to ensure timely delivery of campaigns, communications, and institutional initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency
- Use data-driven analysis to help optimize marketing investments, media spending, promotional effectiveness, and audience growth strategies.
- Oversee the creation of compelling content across various channels to engage diverse audiences
- Foster relationships with media outlets and influencers to amplify the museum’s narrative art initiatives
- Ensure all marketing activities align with the museum's mission and strategic priorities

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- A self-starter with 7+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of leadership in a marketing role
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, digital marketing, and content creation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Experience in managing budgets and leading high-performing teams
- Proficiency in data analytics and the ability to interpret insights to drive strategic decisions
- Experience with or ability to quickly become proficient in CRM and marketing automation
- Passion for narrative art and commitment to the museum’s mission and values
