Job Description
Parsons Preschool is looking for A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who provides evidence-based behavioral assessment, intervention, and consultation services to students with disabilities and behavioral challenges across educational settings. The BCBA collaborates with school administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized behavior support plans that promote academic achievement, social-emotional development, and positive behavioral outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in accordance with federal, state, and NYC DOE regulations.
Analyze behavioral data and use evidence-based practices to design, implement, and monitor interventions for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff regarding behavior management strategies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and administrators to support student success.
Monitor the effectiveness of behavioral interventions through ongoing data collection, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.
Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contribute behavioral expertise to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Support crisis prevention and intervention strategies while promoting safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and reports in compliance with NYC DOE policies and ethical standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Engage families by providing education, resources, and behavioral strategies to support students across school and home settings.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
New York State licensure, where applicable.
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings, particularly students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral disabilities.
Strong knowledge of ABA methodologies, behavioral assessment techniques, and special education laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and data analysis skills.
