Job description:
The Bottling Operator (Filler Operator) is responsible for operating and monitoring bottling and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role ensures that products are filled, sealed, labeled, and packaged according to quality, safety, and sanitation standards while minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency.ResponsibilitiesOperate bottling and filling equipment in accordance with established proceduresPerform daily start-up, operation, changeover, and shutdown activitiesReview daily production schedules and prepare equipment for scheduled runsVerify correct machine programs, temperatures, settings, and materials before starting productionCoordinate with Quality Assurance to confirm line clearance, counters, code dates, sanitation, and GMP compliance prior to starting productionInspect bottles, seals, labels, and date codes throughout production to ensure quality and complianceMonitor fill volumes continuously and make adjustments as needed to stay within specificationsIdentify quality, safety, or mechanical issues and stop the line when necessary to prevent defectsTroubleshoot minor equipment issues and promptly escalate unresolved problems to supervisionClean conveyors, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift to prevent product buildup and contaminationMaintain accurate production and shift documentationCommunicate effectively with packers and other line personnel to keep the line running efficientlyPerform end-of-shift cleaning, equipment preparation, and preventive maintenance as scheduledMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all timesComplete additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or ManagerSafety, Quality & Sanitation ExpectationsFollow all company safety rules, food safety programs, GMPs, and sanitation proceduresMaintain proper personal hygiene at all timesWear required PPE including hairnets and/or beard nets where applicableWear clean uniforms and closed-toe footwearNo jewelry, food, or drinks in designated production areasQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in bottling, packaging, manufacturing, or food/beverage production is requiredMechanical aptitude and ability to adjust and troubleshoot equipmentAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift and move materials as required by the roleAbility to work around moving machinery safelyWork ScheduleMust be flexible to work assigned shifts and overtime based on production needsRate is dependent upon experience
