This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer, IBM Integration Specialist based in India.
This role is a senior technical leadership position focused on designing and delivering complex enterprise integration solutions using IBM middleware technologies. You will play a critical part in building scalable, reliable, and secure integration architectures that connect business-critical systems across domains. The position requires deep expertise in IBM Integration Designer and SOA-based environments, with a strong emphasis on BPEL, mediation flows, and enterprise integration patterns. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that support large-scale enterprise operations. The role involves hands-on development as well as architectural oversight, ensuring high-quality delivery across integration programs. You will also contribute to modernization initiatives, including API-led architectures and automation-driven delivery improvements. This is a high-impact role in a collaborative, fast-paced global engineering environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integration solutions using IBM Integration Designer (IID), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across systems.
- Build and support BPEL processes, mediation flows, and SCA components to enable seamless system-to-system integration.
- Translate business requirements into technical integration designs, workflows, and architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
- Develop and maintain SOAP/REST web services and work extensively with XML, XSD, and WSDL-based integrations.
- Participate in Agile delivery cycles, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely execution.
- Perform code reviews, debugging, defect resolution, and production support to ensure system stability and quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of integration initiatives.
- Support SIT, UAT, deployment activities, and post-production issue resolution in enterprise environments.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation including HLDs, interface specifications, and design artifacts.
- Drive improvements in integration frameworks, reusable components, automation practices, and delivery processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on integration best practices and architecture standards.
- 7.5+ years of experience in enterprise integration development and middleware-based solutions.
- Strong hands-on expertise with IBM Integration Designer (IID) and IBM integration stack technologies.
- Deep experience in BPEL process development, mediation flows, and SOA-based architectures.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware systems.
- Experience with SOAP/REST APIs and strong proficiency in XML, XSD, and WSDL technologies.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database systems such as Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server.
- Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, SVN, or RTC.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in domains such as Banking, Financial Services, Telecommunications, or Transportation is preferred.
- Exposure to API-led architecture, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as SonarQube is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and lead technical discussions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
