Conseiller juridique /Legal Counsel

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Legal Counsel based in Canada.

This is a high-impact legal role within a fast-paced, business-oriented environment supporting a leading industrial organization operating at the forefront of energy innovation. You will act as a trusted legal advisor, providing pragmatic and commercially focused guidance across a wide range of contractual and operational matters. The role involves close collaboration with business leaders to support growth initiatives while ensuring strong governance and risk mitigation across Canadian operations. You will play a key role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements that directly influence business performance and client relationships. Acting as both a legal expert and strategic partner, you will help shape contract strategy, support dispute resolution, and improve legal tools and processes. Accountabilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal standards.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual terms, legal risks, and strategic implications prior to client negotiations.
  • Support internal approval processes and conduct risk assessments for key commercial agreements.
  • Lead or assist in contract negotiations with clients and external partners.
  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance across various business functions and operational matters.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate external legal support when required.
  • Contribute to dispute resolution and support the business in addressing commercial conflicts effectively.
  • Improve contract templates, legal tools, and internal processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Promote strong governance practices and safeguard the organization’s legal and commercial interests.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or business law.
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
  • Fluency in both French and English (bilingual required).
  • Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Solid business acumen with a practical, solution-oriented legal approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advise business stakeholders effectively.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and external counsel.
  • Ability to balance legal risk management with business enablement.
