Description: Production Training Coordinator
Location: Anderson, SC
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Additional Hours: Occasional weekends and off-shift work required to support training across all production shifts.
We are seeking an experienced manufacturing professional who is passionate about developing employees, improving processes, and driving operational excellence. This role serves as the primary coordinator for production training programs, employee onboarding, skills development, and process compliance initiatives across the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, experience training and coaching employees, and the ability to work closely with production leadership to ensure associates are properly trained and consistently following standardized work practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and production training programs.
Conduct audits of on-the-job training activities to verify employee competency and process adherence.
Schedule, deliver, and track production-specific training across multiple departments and shifts.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training platforms to assign, monitor, and document employee training.
Partner with supervisors, team leaders, and managers to identify training needs and skills gaps.
Audit production processes to ensure employees are following work instructions, quality standards, and established procedures.
Assist with the creation, revision, and maintenance of training materials, work instructions, and process documentation.
Support the development and implementation of workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and report training completion, effectiveness, and department training metrics.
Assist in communicating process changes, quality updates, and operational expectations across all shifts.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Support additional training and operational projects as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, assembly, logistics, injection molding, paint, or industrial environment.
Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or leading production employees.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, standardized work, production workflows, and operational procedures.
Experience conducting process audits, training audits, skills assessments, or compliance verification activities.
Ability to read, interpret, and explain work instructions, process sheets, quality standards, production specifications, and manufacturing procedures.
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), electronic training records, or workforce training databases.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Standardized Work, TPM, Kaizen, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work occasional weekends and off-shift hours as business needs require.
Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, Education, or a related field.
Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier environments.
Experience supporting ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems.
Knowledge of training matrix development, workforce development programs, and skills gap analysis.
Experience developing training materials, presentations, job aids, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Previous experience as a Team Lead, Production Trainer, Training Coordinator, Quality Technician, Continuous Improvement Coordinator, or Production Supervisor.
Frequent walking and standing throughout a manufacturing facility.
Occasional lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to move between production areas, training rooms, and office environments as needed.
