About the role
The Old Souls Farms Maintenance Manager is to oversee, direct and optimize the operation of, and communication between, all personnel within the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Manager must establish and maintain teams of dedicated Technicians, Supervisors, and Specialists that possess competency in their areas of work. Demonstrated growth in knowledge and effectiveness of the Maintenance Department will be rewarded with increased responsibilities and pay raises at the discretion of Plant Management.
Managers are required to possess competency in general maintenance knowledge. They are expected to add to this competency, and to the competency of their teams, by participating in (and teaching) classes, personal study, and seminars/webinars.
What you'll do
Responsibilities & Accountability Standards
- Follow and Implement Directives from the Plant Engineer
- Enforce protocol/standards provided by Plant Engineer.
- Follow training/coaching provided by Plant Engineer.
- Communicate daily with Plant Engineer via regularly scheduled meetings.
- Identify problems/issues with current protocol/standards and provide solutions to Plant Engineer.
- Collaborate with Plant Engineer on the creation of new protocol/standards.
- Act in accordance with OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care) described in OSF Employee Manual.
- Collaborate with Plant Engineer on creating and maintaining a positive work environment using OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care).
Department Leadership
- Communicate daily with Technicians and Supervisors via regularly scheduled meetings.
- Assist Supervisors with alignment of daily work schedules for all Technicians.
- Coordinate with other department managers for being work done in their respective facilities/zones when necessary.
- Coordinate with Engineering Manager on project work as needed.
- Resolve conflict between Technicians.
- Interview, hire, promote, and fire Technicians as needed.
- Conduct Performance Reviews of department members.
- Assist Technicians in creating and maintaining a positive work environment using OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care).
- Use the Rippling HRIS system to manage department personnel and direct reports.
Facility Maintenance Requests
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Ensure Maintenance Requests are diagnosed, repaired, or escalated in a timely manner.
- Assist Technicians with Maintenance Request prioritization and scheduling.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM)
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Create and maintain the PM schedule utilizing CMMS.
- Ensure that PM schedule is followed and PMs are completed in a timely manner by Technicians.
- Assist Technicians with PM prioritization and scheduling.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts between departments allowing PMs to be completed.
System Repair & Improvement
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Minimize downtime on all OSF systems by ensuring repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist Technicians with repair prioritization and scheduling.
- Assist Technicians with initiating Maintenance Escalations.
- Supervise and assist Technicians with repairs to systems if necessary.
- Ensure Technicians IT are receiving proper training from Technicians.
Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Assist Technicians with data entry and generation within the CMMS.
- Ensure all data entered and generated from CMMS is accurate and correct.
Inventory Management
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Approve or deny requests for spare parts from inventory.
- Ensure Spare Parts Inventory is kept clean and orderly at all times.
- Assign Technicians to sort and store spare parts and tools when necessary.
Engineering
- All project work directed by Engineering Department.
- Ensure all Maintenance-related protocol are followed by Technicians at all times.
- Assign Technicians to complete project work when needed.
- Ensure Technicians understand how to properly operate and maintain new systems as directed by Engineering Department.
- Provide suggestions for design/layout of new machinery and systems.
Continuing Education
- Create and schedule learning opportunities for Technicians to occur during downtime.
- Schedule training sessions for Technicians.
- Ensure Technicians continue to actively grow their knowledge of Maintenance-related skills and techniques.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production-based managerial/supervisory role required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (all disciplines) or similar technical field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in the Food Industry preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Basic Job Requirements
- Able to prove 18 years of age or older.
- Able to prove status as U.S. Citizen, legal migrant to the U.S., or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Able to work overtime/weekends (if necessary) to complete daily required tasks.
- Able to take direction and carry out orders.
- Able to communicate clearly.
Work Environment
- Able to stand and move on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift and move 1 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Able to lift up to 80 pounds from the floor.
- Able to squat, crouch, kneel, and reach repeatedly over the course of a working day.
- Able to operate in cold temperatures for extended periods of time (as low as 0°F).
- Able to operate hot temperatures for extended periods of time (as high as 120°F).
The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 105,000 USD per year(OSF Site 1)
