In this role, you will be responsible for supporting critical diagnostic instrumentation used in hospitals and laboratory environments, ensuring high system reliability and optimal performance. You will operate in a field-based capacity, traveling across your assigned territory in Southwestern and Northern Ontario to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced clinical systems. This position has a direct impact on patient care by enabling accurate and timely diagnostic testing used by clinicians and healthcare providers. You will work independently in the field while being supported by a collaborative technical organization committed to service excellence. The environment is dynamic and travel-intensive, requiring strong autonomy, technical expertise, and customer-facing communication skills. You will also play a key role in strengthening long-term client relationships through training, responsiveness, and high-quality service delivery.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering on-site technical support for diagnostic systems, ensuring optimal functionality, reliability, and customer satisfaction across hospital and laboratory environments. You will independently manage installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities while ensuring compliance with service standards and documentation requirements (
- Perform installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and validation of diagnostic instrumentation
- Deliver timely and accurate service documentation and technical reporting
- Provide on-site customer training and support to ensure effective system use
- Build strong customer relationships by acting as a trusted technical partner in the field
- Travel across assigned territories (including Southwestern and Northern Ontario) to support clients and service needs
- Collaborate with internal technical and support teams to resolve complex service issues
This role requires strong technical training in electronics or biomedical systems, combined with hands-on field service experience in a customer-facing environment. You should be comfortable working independently in a travel-heavy role, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain high service standards under varying field conditions (
- Technical diploma or higher in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in field service environments
- Experience servicing diagnostic or laboratory instrumentation (hematology, chemistry, immunochemistry, or related systems is an asset)
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and systems diagnostic skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to travel up to 60%, including overnight travel
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing hands-on technical work in field settings
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a remote field-based role
- Annual salary range of $70,000 – $90,000 CAD
