Lead Cybersecurity Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Cybersecurity Manager in United States.

This role is a senior cybersecurity leadership position focused on safeguarding mission-critical, hybrid, and wireless network environments supporting a U.S. Army customer. You will act as the primary cybersecurity point of contact, ensuring alignment between technical teams, government stakeholders, and security governance bodies. The position requires deep expertise in DoD cybersecurity frameworks and the Risk Management Framework (RMF), with responsibility for maintaining compliance and driving secure system integration across complex environments. You will oversee security operations, guide best practices, and provide strategic recommendations to strengthen cyber resilience. This is a highly collaborative role where you will coordinate across internal teams and external government security officials to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and mission-ready. Your leadership will directly influence the integrity and protection of critical defense infrastructure.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the lead cybersecurity authority and primary point of contact supporting all cybersecurity functions for mission-critical defense systems
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and applicable security controls across all system integrations
  • Develop, maintain, and manage RMF packages, including documentation and artifacts within eMASS to support ATO and Authority to Connect approvals
  • Coordinate closely with ISSMs, ISSOs, and government security stakeholders to validate security control implementation and compliance
  • Lead cybersecurity governance efforts, ensuring secure system architecture and continuous risk mitigation across environments
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on cybersecurity best practices to government and internal leadership teams
  • Monitor, assess, and strengthen security posture to prevent vulnerabilities and cyber threats across systems
  • Facilitate clear communication and alignment across technical, operational, and leadership stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Active Secret security clearance required and must be maintained
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in DoD Information Systems Security and/or Cybersecurity roles
  • At least 5 years of experience developing RMF packages and managing ATO/Authority to Connect processes using eMASS
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working directly with U.S. Army RMF processes
  • Current cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CASP, CAP, GSLC, or equivalent industry-recognized credential
  • Strong understanding of DoDI cybersecurity frameworks, RMF processes, and DoD security compliance requirements
  • Experience in ISSM, ISSO, or ISSE roles highly preferred, with proven ability to manage security controls validation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills in complex government environments
  • Ability to operate effectively in mission-critical, high-security environments with strict compliance requirements
